Lala Aramians MS, CF-SLP

Lala Aramians MS, CF-SLP graduated with distinction from California State University, Northridge, with a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Azad University, Tehran, Iran, and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Los Angeles. During her school externship through LAUSD, Lala provided integrated/in-class speech and language therapy to children in Preschool for All Learners (PAL) Special Day Program, working closely with teachers and classroom staff. She also worked with children from pre-school through fifth grade with mild to severe speech and language impairments in individual and/or small group settings. During her clinical practicum, she has worked with many children with a variety of diagnosis majorly including autism, Down syndrome, childhood apraxia of speech, specific language impairment, articulation/phonological disorders, fluency disorders and hearing impairments. Her professional interests include: bilingual/bicultural assessment and treatment, augmentative/alternative communication, pragmatic language and Social Skills.

In her free time, Lala loves to attend Zumba classes, spend time with friends and family and watch movies and shows with her husband.

Claudette Bañares, MS, CCC-SLP earned a Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University (NYU) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Long Beach.

While at NYU, Claudette had the opportunity to serve children and adults in New York City with a variety of complex communication and swallowing disorders. Her professional interests include: neurogenic speech-language disorders and the processes of communication development, with a focus on bilingual language development and augmentative communication. During her free time, Claudette enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with her family, friends, and her cat, Meatball.

download-4Hanna Bogen MS, CCC-SLP

Hanna Bogen, MS, CCC-SLP, received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Linfield College. She then completed a post-baccalaureate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Portland State University, and went on to receive her Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Washington (UW).

While at UW, Hanna discovered her passion for working with children with social-cognitive disorders and complex speech and language challenges. Hanna has attended numerous conferences and trainings for executive functioning and social-regulation interventions, has presented at multiple state conferences, and has helped to train therapists and school teams along the West Coast. Hanna has been specially trained in Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking approach, Leah Kuyper’s Zones of Regulation, Sarah Ward’s approach to teaching Executive Functioning, as well as many other curricula that address social, emotional, cognitive, and language development. Additionally, Hanna collaborated in the preschool at Seattle’s Experimental Education Unit, and completed a three-month externship with a focus in evaluation and treatment of Developmental Apraxia of Speech. In 2015, Hanna co-created Brain Talk, a curriculum developed to build metacognitive and self-regulation skills by teaching students about the narrative of neural integration. Hanna continues to support school teams in developing school-wide programs to integrate self-regulation skills into the academic curriculum.

In her free time, Hanna loves to travel (18 countries down!), cook, soak up the Southern California sun, and spend time in the great outdoors. She is thrilled to join the team at CDK!

download-1Ashley Sohrab MS, CFY-SLP

Ashley Sohrab MS, CFY-SLP, has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Educational Studies from the University of California, Irvine, and received her Masters of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Chapman University. Before pursuing her goal of becoming a speech language pathologist, she worked as a preschool teacher. This is where her love for working with children bloomed. She continued her education and received her license to work as a speech language pathology assistant (SLPA) before starting graduate school. She has worked with a variety of disorders, in different populations and with all ages while she was a SLPA as well as during her graduate school internships.

During her spare time she enjoys, cooking, playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, binge watching television shows with her husband, and traveling both locally and abroad! Ashley is SO excited to be a part of such a great team at CDK!

Speech Therapy Coordinator

Kat Tomas, MS, CCC-SLP received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from the University of California, San Diego in 2010 and her Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Los Angeles in 2013. Most recently, Kat graduated with her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Redlands.  While earning her graduate degree, Kat had experiences with clients of all age ranges and communication disorders. During her school externship, Kat worked with students in mild-moderate and moderate-severe special education classes from pre-school through middle school grades. During her hospital externship, Kat also had the opportunity to work on different multi-disciplinary teams including a pediatric developmental assessment team and a cranio-facial and cleft assessment and treatment team. Her experiences also include working with children with articulation disorders, hearing impairments, fluency disorders, and overall communication impairments.

When she is not working, Kat enjoys eating adventurous foods in Southern California with her friends and family. She also likes to cook, bake, and photograph anything food related. When food isn’t involved, Kat enjoys spending her time crafting and scrapbooking.
